LBN 468 & LD N1253 Dark Shark nebulae. LDN 1253, best known as Dark Shark nebula, and LBN 468 are two dark variable nebulae in the region of Cepheus. They are part of a vast complex of interstellar dust that also include the well known Iris nebula.

Capturing the molecular complex requires many hours of integration and special post-processing technique to extract the faint dark nebulosity. Both images were captured in LRGB natural color.
