NGC1299 California Nebula in SHO “Hubble” palette. This is the last project of 2020 and took over two months to complete due to winter rainy season.

The frame only includes the central portion of the California Nebula and comprises of over 20.8 hours of imaging time in narrowband filters. Final image is a combination of Hα, Oiii and Sii emissions.

The very strong Hydrogen and Sulfur emissions give the nebula the distinct cotton swab look and marked orange-red hue.
