NOG 1579 or Northern trifid nebula is a bright HII emission region surrounded by a dusty region in the constellation . The name is inspired by its similarity to the well known M20 “Trifid nebula” in Sagittarius. The bright central region is energized by young forming stars that shine in blue and ultraviolet light.
